Replace





The Replace function is a fast way to change the text within the visible columns in the CRMHaven window. It is very fast and can change many Client records very quickly but is also very dangerous as it cannot be undone.

  • View all the Fields you want it to replace in using the Options-Choose Fields to Display.
  • Mark any Clients you want to be changed.
  • Click the Action button and choose Clean Clients. Click the Replace tab.
  • Click the Update field popup to choose the field you wish to update. If you set the Update to All Visible Columns then all suitable columns will have their values changed (note that not all fields can be changed and will be ignored).
  • Type the value you want to search for in the Find field. Click the button to the right to search for tab, return or linefeed characters.
  • Type the value you want as its replacement in the Replace field.
  • Choose the location on the text to be found. Note that this can be used to remove leading or training spaces or returns, but leave those in the middle of the text.
  • Click Preview to view only the fields that will be changed. Fields that are unchanged remain blank. Fields that are changed to become blank are shown as «Blank» and all text will be removed. Ensure the clients and new values are correct as the update cannot be undone.
  • Click Update. Every Marked Client will now have that field changed to the new value.

Options
  • You may want to perform an Export before updating.
  • You can change the values for most pop-up list attributes using the Options-Edit Group details window.
  • Click Options-Clear All Marked Clients before selecting a new set of Marked Clients to ensure no Clients are accidentally updated. Use the shift, command and control keys if necessary to highlight the Clients and click the Marked button to Mark as many Clients as desired
