Transfers

045Transfers

Every time a Project is transferred to or from your computer, the Transfers window appears. It shows the progress of any files being transferred.

DocHaven queues all transfers, so you can keep on adding more and more Take Outs, Put Aways, Copy Outs, Views, Purges, Exports, Archives and Backups to the queue, but they are handled in order one at a time.

Total Files
  • Shows the proportion of files currently transferring and waiting to be transferred versus the number of files already transferred.

Current File
  • Shows the actual FTP transfer progress of the current file.

Triangle
  • Allows you to hide the log section of the progress windows, keeping only the graphical data visible (doesn’t work on Linux).

Stop
  • Cancels the currently transferring file and once stopped will begin the next waiting transfer. Note that this can take a long time to time out.

Clear
  • Removes the completed transfers from the list leaving only the currently running transfer.
  • This is useful to help the Total Files bar give a more accurate indication of progress over time.

Two list boxes
  • The upper list box shows the current and all completed transfers. The lower list box shows all the waiting transfers. The order of the waiting transfers can be changed, but not the order of the completed transfers.

Remove
  • Removes any highlighted waiting transfers.

File Name
  • The name of the currently transferring Project.

Transferred
  • The amount of the file that has actually been transferred and the total file size to be transferred.
  • It also gives an estimated time to finish the current transfer given the transfer rate so far.

Messages
  • Shows a log of the messages being sent to and from the FTP server.

Options
  • As the Transfers window is small and aligns to the right side of the screen, it may be useful at times to move it away from the screen edge and resize the window to see more details.
  • It is possible to copy and paste details from any of the transfer windows or the messages window should you be having trouble sending or receiving files and need the messages to help in troubleshooting.
  • Closing the Transfers window will not stop the transfer from completing.
  • Turning Speech on allows you to be informed when transfers have completed.
  • If you quit while transfers are still in operation, it will give you the option to finish the transfers then Quit.
