Purging Projects

072Purge

Purging allows users to recover FTP server space by deleting old versions of Projects that are excessive to requirements.
  • Choose ‘Purge…’ from the Manage menu.
  • Choose the range of projects you want to purge, either All My Projects or a single Project.
  • Choose the number of versions you want to keep on the server.
  • Click the Purge button.

Options
  • Once a version has been purged it cannot be recovered, so it is advisable to Export or Backup your Project versions before purging.
  • If a Project has less versions that the number set to be kept the Project is ignored.
  • Only Administrators are able to purge everyone’s Projects, otherwise the option is greyed. They may need to click the Find All button to display all users.
  • Group Managers are able to purge another user’s Projects, otherwise the option is greyed.
  • Note: only Group Managers can set purging to zero versions. If they choose zero versions, the projects will not only have every version removed from the server, but the projects will be marked as ‘deleted’.
  • If a Group Manager wants to totally remove the files from a particular user, it is recommended they perform an Archive for that user. This way they have a copy of all their files.
