Managing Notifications

Click the ‘Notify’ tab. Notifications are messages that appear both on login and about every 30 minutes informing you if someone has performed an action on one of your projects.

A notification only appears for a given project if ‘Notify Owner’ has been checked. Notifications can be deleted or dismissed as informed so they won’t keep reappearing. The Notification window can contain multiple notifications and, if dismissed, can be viewed at any time from the Window menu.

The ‘User ID’, ‘Owner ID’ and ‘Project ID’ fields cannot be changed since they indicate the actual elements of the notification. The User ID indicates who caused the action to occur. The Owner ID is the user who owns the project that was actioned in some way. And the Project ID indicates which project was the one affected.

  • Type any additional description of the action in ‘Notes’. Click ‘Update’ to save the changes.
  • Check ‘Informed’ to keep the notification, but not have it appear in the Notification window.
  • There is no limit on the number of notifications you can have. You may decide to never use the notification feature, or keep them building up as a record of all accesses, or keep them but mark them as informed or delete them.
  • For a large organisation, they may form a useful method to find which template projects are being used most or least, the most productive users, or the most active times of the day. You may want to export the notification data to Excel to test the quantity and frequency of projects accessed.
